Water

A plentiful quantity of potable water is the foundation of healthy communities and the catalyst for regional economic development. Harrison Grierson engineers routinely work with governmental organisations and industry to provide cost effective solutions for life’s most basic need.

Harrison Grierson process designs are based on relevant raw water quality and completed treatment plants range from conventional to membrane filtration along with treatment for specific chemical contaminants and various disinfection technologies. Individual treatment systems include reverse osmosis, ion exchange, granular activated carbon absorption, ozonation, ultraviolet radiation, and a wide range of chemical feed systems for coagulation, fluoridation, taste and odour control, disinfection and oxidation.

Network infrastructure is developed and designed through careful master planning; field inspection of physical conditions; hydraulic modelling of flows and pressures in existing or new systems; leak detection studies, design of pumping stations, rate of flow control systems, reservoirs and water transmission and distribution mains.

Pipeline route and conceptual design studies involve the selection of alignment; land acquisition; preservation of archeological sites and areas of natural significance; geological investigations and consenting.
