FutureIntech Brings the World of Engineering and Science to School Students
back to Making a Difference
AUGUST 2011

FutureIntech introduces young people around New Zealand to the possibilities that await them if they take up educational opportunities in science, engineering and technology. Under the IPENZ sponsored scheme, young professionals present workshops with hands-on activities at primary and secondary schools.

Harrison Grierson is pleased to be involved by supporting one of its structural engineers, Melanie Wood, in her role as a FutureIntech ambassador. Melanie is passionate about the role and states shes hopes to "share my knowldge about structural engineering as a viable career option. When I was at school there really wasn't much information about the options for study and careers in engineering."

The FutureIntech scheme aims to take the enthusiasm of graduates like Melanie and share their passion for science, engineering and technolgy with students still at school. Demand for science and engineering graduates continues to grow in New Zealand and is seen as an area that deserves continuing focus if the country is to grow its knowledge economy.
