To celebrate World Environment Day (5th June) and to show their support for sustainability staff at Harrison Grierson chose more sustainable modes of transport for getting to and from work on Friday 4th June.
Leading by example was Managing Director, Alastair Kent Johnston, who walked to work accompanied by his family pet while others walked, ran, cycled, carpooled, trained or bussed.
As added incentive the company donated 3 prizes of “Fair Trade” mini hampers of coffee, tea and chocolate and these were given to those staff who demonstrated the most effort and creativity supporting sustainable transport.
The day was made fun by many through team participation and fancy dress and highlighted that with little effort and thought sustainable transport really can work. Some even admitting they may come by other means again, even on a regular basis.
