Land Development & Subdivision Infrastructure Standard wins Best Practice Award
MAY 2011
The New Zealand Planning Institute has awarded the 2011 Best Practice Award to the Committee established by the Standards Council for developing the standard, NZS 4404:2010, Land Development and Subdivision Infrastructure. Harrison Grierson's Urban Design Manager, Greg McBride, representative of one of the committee organisations, the Urban Design Forum, was an instrumental agent in the standard's innovative focus on urban design principles that integrate land use planning with transportation infrastructure.
An outstanding outcome in the creation of this standard was the way the committee members broke down professional silos to achieve best practice subdivision design, Now a more comprehensive guide is available to the varied professions responsible for bringing higher liveability and mobility standards to infill and greenfield developments. Harrison Grierson is not only proud of its involvement in the production of this standard but see that it reflects the Company's own vision for better environments through creative thinking by a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach.
