Our 'Engineers Without Borders' Working in the South Pacific
back to Making a Difference
FEBRUARY 2010

A number of Harrison Grierson staff are members of the voluntary organisation 'Engineers Without Borders, New Zealand' (EWBNZ). This is an organisation of professional and student engineers who share a vision to confront global challenges of poverty, sustainable development and social inequity by undertaking projects that will directly improve the quality of life in communities in the South Pacific region.

Members of Harrison Grierson staff are on the committee of the Professionals chapter of EWBNZ and are involved in organising projects and awareness events. One recent project was a trip to Tanna Island in Vanuatu to form relationships with communities, scope projects and provide engineering design assistance. Further projects are being planned for later this year. Harrison Grierson staff also ran in the Auckland Half Marathon to promote awareness and raise funds for engineering aid projects.
