FEBRUARY 2011

Harrison Grierson engineers are working with ten communities in North Queensland to design and procure infrastructure necessary to fluoridate water supplies as part of a state wide programme to have all significant population centres receiving fluoridated water by December 2012. The programme objectives are to improve the dental health of the population and to meet the same standards as applied in other states in Australia.

The Queensland Government, through the Department of Infrastructure and Planning, is facilitating the roll out of the fluoridation programme to regional Queensland. The programme is fully funded by the Government and local Government is responsible for engaging designers and contractors to implement the capital works. Harrison Grierson engineers will also assist treatment plant operators with the initial operation and maintenance of the treatment plants and dosing systems as they come on line.
