Harrison Grierson's Senior Pincipal, Steve Finnemore, was awarded the Best Paper prize at the recent North Queensland, Australian Water Association Conference in Townsville. Steve's paper on Septicity in Sewer Infrastructure was judged to have been high in technical content and well delivered. The presentation informed conference delegates on the science of the subject which if not understood and taken account of in the design of sewers can lead to the corrosion, early deterioration and the unplanned replacement of expensive sewer infrastructure. In particular, Steve presented examples of modelling techniques, physical and chemical treatment applications, relative costs of treatment methods and asset management processes to the conference delegates.
