University of Otago Students receive Harrison Grierson Awards

At the recent University of Otago, School of Surveying graduation day, Harrison Grierson's Chairman and Director of Surveying, Mr Gary Clark presented the Company's two high achievement awards to this year’s winners, 3rd year student Fiona Robertson and 4th year student Joseph Wright.

During the presentation Mr Clark noted that Harrison Grierson has had a long and proud association with surveying and land development in New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific Islands over the last 125 years. Through its work the company recognises the quality of the surveying programme at the University of Otago and the contribution its graduates make to the surveying profession, both within NZ and overseas.

The achievement awards form part of the strong, long-term relationship between the Company and the University which to date has included research collaboration, joint consultancy work and support to undergraduates and post-graduate students through awards and scholarships.

For the awards this year, Fiona was awarded The Harrison Grierson Scholarship for scoring the highest mark in the Land Development module, for which she received a cheque for $1750 and a certificate to recognise the achievement. Joseph was awarded the Harrison Grierson Prize for best overall academic result in the Advanced Land Development and Project Management modules, for which he received a cheque for $750 along with a certificate to recognise the achievement.
