Dean Kimpton
Independent DirectorDean brings extensive executive and governance experience across New Zealand’s infrastructure, transport and engineering sectors.
Prior to joining Harrison Grierson’s Board, Dean was Chief Executive of Auckland Transport and previously served as Chief Operating Officer at Auckland Council from 2013 to 2019. Earlier in his career, he was Managing Director and CEO of AECOM New Zealand.
Dean has held a number of independent chair and board roles across the sector, including with the Eastern Busway Alliance, New Zealand Construction Sector Accord, Infrastructure New Zealand, MBIE Building Advisory Panel and QuakeCORE. He has also contributed to governance groups involving Auckland Transport, KiwiRail and AOR.
Dean holds a Master of Engineering from the University of Auckland and served as President of Engineering New Zealand in 2018. He is a Distinguished Fellow of Engineering New Zealand and a member of the Institute of Directors.
