Beginning in 2006 leading a plan change to rezone 148ha of rural land to the east of Te Puke, following the approval of the plan change and subsequent variation, HG has obtained numerous resource consents including stormwater discharge, bulk earthworks, water takes and subdivision to enable development within the park.
Project Lead and HG Technical Director, Grant Rae, says he and the team are so proud to be a part of the project which is a flagship project for the region.
‘’The transformation of the park is huge. If you’re driving along the Tauranga eastern motorway, you’ll see a hive of activity with contractors working on multiple contracts,’’ says Grant.
‘’We’re all working together to create the roading, wastewater, water supply and stormwater infrastructure required to bring the park to life’’.
Following detailed stormwater and flood risk modelling by our three waters team, a 50-ha stormwater pond and wetland sits to the north of the site. That’s the equivalent of 48 rugby fields!
Grant says the pond will provide important ecological and environmental outcomes for the surrounding areas as well as mitigate any flood risk within the business park and downstream.
‘’It’s so satisfying to see the park come to life. As professional consultants, this is what thrills us. We get to see a community flourish and our planning come to fruition,’’ says Grant.
